A remake of a comfy knit and some crazy cats

A friend gave me an asymetric back knit top a few years ago.  I have always intended to take a pattern off it as it is quite unique and late last year I finally got around to it.   I basically traced around the top, noting arm and neck holes, side and shoulder seams.  It has bindings on all the openings and a wide waistband. It ended up as a pattern piece that looked like this:

And it is big!  The neck and arm holes have thin binding on them and there is a wide waistband not shown about 10cm wide that is then folded in half before it is attached.

I liked it so much I made two.  The  first in a striped knit from a fabric warehouse sale a few years ago. (credit to Kat for these pics)

And then this one in a spotty cat knit which is super soft (credit to Mel for this set of pics).

I love them as they are a bit different to a normal t-shirt, but still casual and comfy.IMG_5198
